A real delight for cricket-lovers and the inquisitive newcomer
Review date: 2010-03-31 Rating: 10 out of 10

Highly recommended. Cricket is a profoundly simple game and this wonderful book, with brilliantly alive artwork and authoratitive text, will not only feed the cricket-loving enthusiast, but will also enable the uninitiated to glimpse some descriptions of great players. The book is chock-full of events, some of them common, some of them wildly improbable (but not impossible), that may happen during a game of cricket, that will require an umpire's decision. If you love cricket, or if you are curious to find out just why anybody might love it, dip into this book and have some fun. - CW

Easy reading and fun to test your knowledge

A great way to review the laws and peculiarities of the game of cricket.
A good starting place for anyone about to encounter the level one umpires course.
Not as detailed though as 'Tom Smith's'new cricket umpire and scoring.

    Great book

Great book that helps you understand the laws of cricket with a sence of humor with fun graphics

    An amusing and informative read
Review date: 2009-10-30 Rating: 8 out of 10

As an umpire I found the way in which the laws were illustrated both informative and amusing. I did, however, tend to skip the 'Player Biographies', which I cannot comment on, although the range of players chosen seemed interesting. A refreshing read.
